Frequently Asked Questions What is semi permanent make up? It is a process whereby top quality medical grade pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin to achieve the precise cosmetic result required (eyebrows, eyeliner, lip blush etc) I want the treatment but I am very nervous! Can you reassure me? Its quite normal that having something new done on a visible part of your body in itself brings about worries and concerns. All clients are offered a full no obligation consultation before any treatment is performed. Before and after images are available so you can get a good representation of my work. Throughout the treatment I constantly communicate with each client to ensure that you as an individual are fully involved with the process and the results you wish to have. How long does it last? Semi permanent make up can last up to several years, however as each individuals skin is unique, this can vary from person to person. The enhancement will gradually fade over time and we normally recommend a "top up" treatment every 18 months/2 years after the initial enhancement to keep it looking at its best. Top up treatments are at a substantially reduced rate to the initial treatment.
Does it hurt? Prior to receiving the treatment and throughout the treatment topical anaesthetics are applied to the skin. Many clients feel no discomfort whatsoever whilst others feel minimal discomfort, likened to plucking of eyebrow hairs.
What happens after the treatment? Immediately after the treatment and for several days after, the area treated will be significantly darker and more intense in shade. After a few days the area begins to heal and naturally exfoliates away exposing the softer colour underneath. Normally only you will notice this with other people not being aware! Swelling (if any) is negligible....after an eyeliner procedure it may look like you have been crying, but this puffiness has normally dissipated by the following day. Aftercare and Advice
Full aftercare instructions are given after any treatment. Really it is just a case of keeping the treated area clean and using the provided cream as advised. An "aftercare information" leaflet is also given to each client at the end of the treatment to refer to.
